courtney's campaign continues...

Dear Friends and Family,

It is a Monday, so time for the news on Courtney. She continues to have 3-4 seizures daily which are difficult to say the least. She is still managing to make it to school 3 out of 5 days which is a huge blessing and downright miracle! We continued our medical odyssey today with a four hour orthopedic appointment. We found out that her lower lumbar scoliosis (sp?) has worsened to 30 degrees, a 10% increase in a year. Not good. This puts more pressure on Courtney's lower organs and just complicates the whole picture. They will insert a metal rod in her back once we reach a 50 degree curvature and not before. It's just too risky for her before then.

So we continue to rely on God's mercy and grace to get through each and every one of these medical appointments. We have always known that this would be a difficult path to walk, and I must admit that there are days where the weight of it all is almost too much to bear. Then I look into those peace filled cornflower blue eyes and know that God is right there with us each step of the way. Courtney continues to inspire and amaze us each day with her strength of purpose and will to fight to remain with awhile longer. Jerry and I promised her long ago that we would never abandon her and that whatever God called us to do, we would do, for His honor and glory. And so we will.

Please continue to pray for all of us, especially our Courtney as we try to help her in any way we can. As for our financial situation, God continues to move mountains for us and we are so grateful to all who have stepped in to help. Just keep praying and He will keep working! We truly cannot do any of this without all of you supporting us in prayer. It is the only solution that matters. As Padre Pio said "Pray, Don't Worry".

In Christ,
Mary, Jerry, Jonathan and Courtney
