with humble thanks ~ 10/09/07

Dear Family and Friends,

First, thank you so much for ALL of your prayers this morning. Jerry and I felt great peace during our meeting and we know it's because of your prayers. I know that many of you have things happening in your own lives that require prayer and trust in God's will, so Jerry and I are very humbled that you would take the time to pray for us and our family. Things here are difficult, I must be honest. The debt we have incurred trying to keep up with Courtney's needs is quite extensive. We will be meeting with a lawyer in the next week or so to pursue all our options, including selling the house. I ask that you continue to pray for us and for the wisdom to make the right decisions in the coming weeks. I am reminded that we are not to store up treasures here on earth, but in heaven. God is walking us through detachment of worldly goods and sometimes it is extremely challenging. Of course, as long as we are able to care for Courtney and Jonathan, we will do whatever is required of us.

Many miracles happened today. We had a Christian financial counselor who was amazed we were able to get as far as we have without collapsing financially. Glory and Praise to God who provides all things!! We were surrounded in prayer by our wonderful family and faith community. Glory and Praise to God for his generosity in providing those relationships! There were hugs, smiles and words of encouragement from some of Gods angels who I am lucky enough to call friends. Praise and Thanksgiving to God for these women!!

Even in the midst of Courtney's seizures today, she fought for breath and found peace in her mothers arms. Glory and Praise to God for the gift of this precious young lady who continues to teach her parents strength, perseverance and faith in a God who knows all things, and provides for us each and every moment of each and every day!

So I encourage you all to live in the sacrament of the present moment. Know that our Living God is with you in all things and will never abandon you! I take great encouragement in this. God is enough!

Blessings and God's Peace to all of You,
Mary, Jerry, Jonathan and Courtney

"Do not fear: only believe" Mark 5:36

"To suffer and to be happy although suffering, to have one's feet on the earth, to walk on the dirty and rough paths of this earth and yet to be enthroned with Christ at the Father's right hand, to laugh and
cry with the children of this world and ceaselessly to sing the praises of God with the choirs of angels: this is the life of the Christian until the morning of eternity breaks forth." -- St. Edith Stein
