The Skills of a Homemaker ~ A Dying Art?

Thanks to my friend Maria for sharing this item. It's a fabulous article from "Simple Mom" about keeping our traditional homemaking skills alive. Sewing, Cooking from Scratch, Gardening, Canning, Knitting and Crocheting are skills that every young woman would have been schooled in even 50 years ago. They are lost arts making a comeback, Praise God! I have been sewing shorts and skirts for Court this summer and have my eye on making a new quilt for the Master Bedroom. I have also taken up gardening vegetables and my Mom is teaching me to can. I hope to one day pass these skills down to the next generation, keeping the home arts alive and well. Enjoy the article. It's a great read.

Happy Homemaking!
Mary
