Toffee Bars
recipe from The World's Greatest Christmas Cookie Cookbook

Ingredients:
2 sticks real butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
6 ounces chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar.  Add egg and vanilla.  Mix well.  Add flour and blend well.  Spread 1/4 inch thick in jelly roll pan, leaving about 1/2 inch of space around the edges.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.  Immediately after removing from oven sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.  Let stand for 2 minutes and then gently spread melted chocolate around.  Sprinkle nuts all over and let cool.  Cut into small bars.
