I am either a stewardess or a legal secretary. Not sure about the big bow either. |
It's Passion Sunday my friends and we are entering into the holiest week of the church year. Where oh where did the last five weeks go? Usually the Lenten season drags by for me making those little sacrifices much more challenging. This year it was like a time warp. I blinked and now it's Palm Sunday. Yowza!

Odd photo...apparently I am missing a leg...lovely... |
So let's get to the outfits of the day. I was very excited to wear this outfit today. My favorite color on the planet is navy blue. When I saw this skirt in the Macy's catalog I knew that it had to be mine. One power sale weekend later and it was. Everything else I had in my closet.
I really do love the versatility of a pencil skirt. It truly flatters any body type. It is my go to style when I have no time to worry about what I am wearing. Pencil skirt + blouse + sweater = done. Awesome.
I kept my make-up simple with just mascara and the fabulous Mac "Red to Shop" lipstick. Anything more I think would be overwhelming. I also did something different with my hair. I left it straighter and didn't push it behind my ears. Not so sure about that either but at least it's something different. Just trying to step outside the box I have been in for decades.
The bracelet I have had for some time and I totally forgot to get a photo of my earrings which have red in them as well. Still not sure about the bow on the blouse...hmmm...

Miss Courtney has not been a big fan of any type of hair accessory lately. We are in the midst of growing her hair out and right now she is in those dreaded "middle" stages. Ugh. It is a total pain but I am determined to grow it out. This is what I was greeted with this morning:
Yep. A nightmare of knots and curls...yippee. SO I slowly and very carefully brushed it out and corralled it with a beret. So now it's a little more tame and under control.
Courtney has had a pretty good week. She and I are trying to figure out this whole new dance now that she is weaned off the Depakote and so much more alert and awake. It is like have a toddler in the house once more. I don't mind at all but it is challenging to say the least. Each day is a grand adventure in what new sounds Miss C is going to make or what new hand movement or leg movement she will do. So we shall see where she takes us.
Now for her outfit today. I had some fun with this one. Miss Courtney received a gift in the mail for a sweet friend with the instructions that it was NOT to be spent on a hospital bill or anything medical. It was to be used to purchase a new piece of clothing or do something fun with her.
Well, we did have some fun. I am a HUGE fan of JCrew and I think their styling really fits Miss Courtney well. However their price point is usually way out of our budget so we look for less expensive things and copy their styling when we can. Now with this unexpected gift, we took off to see if something inspired us.
SCORE!! We walked in to the shop and I saw this blouse right away. Oh.my.golly. I knew it was coming home with us, especially since her gift covered the price completely. I have never bought anything at JCrew, just drooled at the window and catalog. There are so many ways Miss Court can wear this sweet little number. This was just the first way I came up with. I had so much fun going through her closet and creating different looks for my girl.
Courtney's Outfit:
Tangerine Blouse: JCrew (thanks to a sweet friend)
