It's time once again for a little list of Five Favorites for the week. Joining Hallie @ MoxieWife.
Since tomorrow is my 46th Birthday I thought I would share my five favorite birthday gifts of all time. So walk with me as I take a trip down memory lane. In no particular order...let's begin...
#1
For my 8th birthday I got the Donny and Marie Barbie dolls. I loved them. I felt like I had won the lottery.
Every Friday night I would be allowed to watch their variety show. I thought Donny was so cute. Yes, I am dating myself but I wanted to dress just like Marie. The thought frightens me know, but for an 8 year old...she was da bomb.

For my 13th birthday I got my first vinyl record. It was Shaun Cassidy's first album and it had his #1 hit "Da Doo Run Run Run" on it. Thank goodness my musical taste has matured since then or I should probably be medicated...oh wait I am...hmmmmm...
For your listening pleasure...

For my 18th Birthday my parents gave me a simple pearl ring. It was a very big moment for me. I had never received anything so beautiful. My Dad told me I was a young woman now and told me the biblical story of a "pearl of great price". He was not a man who said I love you but he showed me as best he could. I still wear it to this day.
#4
For my 30th Birthday, Jerry was in the Mediterranean and I was alone with two children. It was a tough time in my marriage and I was feeling pretty alone. The morning of my birthday there was a knock on the door and when I went to open it, all I saw were yellow roses. My parents had sent me 30 long stem yellow roses. They were stunning and in lieu of the fact that my husband had forgotten my birthday, the only thing that saved that day. Some one had remembered and that's all I cared about.

For my 40th Birthday my husband got me this doll...
Yes, I know, you think we are crazy people but oh how I love this doll. When they first came out, I wished and wished Miss Courtney had been able to play with dolls like this. I loved the books and the clothes and the accessories that went along with each one. Love them. And yes...I still have it.
What was your favorite birthday gift??
