OK my friends. Enough about laundry and wheelchair van repairs. Let's talk about pretty things for a bit shall we??
It's time once again for a little list of Five Favorites for the week. Joining Hallie @ MoxieWife. I thought I would jump in today because it's raining and wet and grey and cloudy and well, I need a little beauty in my world today.
I love fashion. I always have and I think I always will. Some people draw, paint, take beautiful photos, work with wood, knit, sew, or embroider all creating their own art. I think designers do the same with fabric. I did not watch the Golden Globes this past Sunday but I did look at all the beautiful gowns that came down that Red Carpet on Monday. I thought I woudl share my five favorites:
#1
Michelle Dockery from Downton Abbey
Dressed in Oscar de la Renta. Oh the beading, the structure of the gown, the very modern twist with the high/low hemline and the nude shoe. It is perfection with her skin tone. Michelle's usually wears a very sleek modern look with a nod to the past. Think a little Jackie O plus a little glitter and glam equals perfection. So elegant.
#2
Sophia Vegara of Modern Family
Dressed in Zac Posen. Voluptuous...that's what she is. She has curves and she knows how to dress them. I personally would have covered up a bit more on top, but then Sophia is known for her displays of ...well...her curves. The classic play of black with the brilliance of the sea blue jewels is phenom. It is a Cinderella moment for sure.
#3
Drew Barrymore
Dressed in a stunning gown by Monique Lhuillier. This gown is ethereal and bohemian with a modern twist in the high/low hemline. It says "I am so happy to be pregnant and I feel beautiful". I love it. I love her in it. It floats like the chiffon flowers on it. Don't forget the fabulous red satin peep toe pumps. A little sass at the end. LOVE it!
#4
Helen Mirren
Dressed in Jenny Packman. I want to be here when I grow up. Seriously, this woman has got it going on and she is 67 years old. She knows what she is comfortable in and rocks some serious bling with those emerald and diamond earrings. I love the draping at her waist, the subtle sea blue beading of the fabric and that color is spectacular. Ahh...Miss Helen, you never disappoint.
#5
Melissa Rauch from The Big Bang Theory
Dressed in Romona Keveza the first thing that draws my eye is the wonderful bright yellow. A blonds best friend. The draping of this dress reminds me of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The only thing I would add would be a string of diamonds at the neck. But then I am all about the bling and not known for my subtly.
So what do you think my friends? Did you have a favorite?
