pretty, happy, funny, real ~ vol. 11

First, thank you all for your sweet words of encouragement, prayers and helpful suggestions yesterday. It's not everyday I have an emotional moment on video. Sheesh! So happy it wasn't the ugly cry!

I so appreciate this little community we have created here. Know that I am fine, not a tear in sight today AND I didn't fall into the chocolate buttercream bath either. Miss Courtney slept for ten hours last night which was just what I needed. Perspective is everything, and mine is definitely more positive today.

I cannot believe I have not done a {p,h,f,r} post for almost a month. Yikes. I love this little diddy so much and the community of women I have met through this weekly post have been so supportive and wonderful, I need to get back in the game here. Here we go...

I think roses, peonies and gerber daisies are my favorite flowers. When I was visiting a local garden a few weeks ago I cam across this bench strewn with centerpieces left from a weeding. I just thought they were breathtaking. The color combos along with the addition of the berries and other ornamentals...natural and breathtaking.

Last weekend I grilled the best chicken I have ever grilled in my life. No joke. the marinade was simple and bursting with flavor. My friend C's daughter HB found it and shared it, so now I share it with you. As is my tradition, it will be forever called HB's Marinade for Chicken and Beef. It will make your tummy very, very happy.

HB's Marinade for Chicken and Beef
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
- 3 T white vinegar
- 3 T vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup dried onion flakes (optional)
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger

~ Whisk together until combined then marinade meat for at least overnight to 24 hours.

I have been knitting again and recently finished these three washcloths. I think I have a counting problem because they were all supposed to be the same size. Yikes! Oh well, at least now I know how to count rows. Progress is slow but purposeful.

Miss Courtney has a had a good day so far. We have added in an extra tube feeding before bedtime and more calories in the g-tube formula. Hopefully we will have a positive result in the next few weeks. We are running out of options here. So please keep praying for our girl. She needs to pack on the pounds.

I hope you have a great day! thanks for stopping by to stay hello!
