I know your expecting another culinary wonderment but tonight I write with a heavy heart asking for prayers. This afternoon I learned that one of Courtney's classmates, Joseph G. passed away yesterday afternoon rather suddenly. So this weekend we turn our hearts and minds to a sweet young boy who had the biggest smile in the world and eyes that could pierce your heart. He was such an absolute delight to be around. He has been a classmate of Court's for several years and he has a wonderful loving family who will be missing him something fierce.
I am reminded how fragile life is, especially with the fragile ones who already have so much stacked against them. When I told Courtney that JoJo had passed away and was now in the arms of Jesus, she turned toward me with the sweetest smile and put her hand on mine. It was like she was telling me he was OK. He was finally free and out of pain and that was a beautiful thing. She has been unusually quiet this evening and once again smiled softly when we prayed for Joseph and his family tonight. I must admit I held my girl for a long time not wanting to ever forget the feel of her in my arms because I know one day that they will be empty.
So tonight as you kiss your little ones or big ones goodnight, tell them how much you love them and how your life would not be the same without them. These children we have been blessed with are precious gifts to be loved and treasured.
So Joseph, may you sing with the angels and run in the fields of glory dancing for an eternity with Our Lord. May the Blessed Mother wrap her arms around your Mamma's tonight and hold her as she weeps. May St. Joseph stand with your Papa as he walks with you one last time this weekend. You will be missed my sweet boy!
+Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.+
I will see you with more sweet things on Monday my dear friends. This weekend we mourn.
Blessings and Grace,
Mary
