"Praying God's Word for Your Husband" by Kathi Lipp arrived at the perfect time for me. I needed a little kick in the back-side in regards to my prayer life, especially when it comes to praying for my honey.
Here's the books description on Amazon:
"Women often offer up polite prayers to God without any real hope of seeing change in their marriage, their husbands, or themselves. Kathi Lipp directs women to Scripture and shows wives how to pray God's Word boldly and in full confidence of seeing God-sized results. With a light touch and an approachable style, Lipp shows women what a blessing it is to pray for their husbands, addressing specific concerns, like praying for his parenting, career and finances, relationship with God and others, emotional health, future and more."
I liked how the book was laid out. I am all about following a plan and Ms. Lipp laid out quite an ambitious one. But before your actually in prayer, she goes through how to establish a routine, pick a special spot for prayer, focus during prayer, prepare your heart for what God reveals, and even partner with other women in prayer.
I appreciated the personal stories as well as the specific scriptures for specific concerns, since I am not the best at memorizing scripture. I have my copy highlighted and filled with little tabs so I know the right page for what his current needs are. Prayer is the best gift I could ever give my husband and I know this new path will be a fruitful one.
