small successes (vol.59)...

FaithButton

"It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."

1.
I feel like I am behind all the time these days. I am constantly running to catch up. How many times have I typed these words here??? Too many times!! Normally by this time the house is completely decorated and I am in a baking frenzy getting ready for St. Nicholas Day. This year things are different. I had not anticipated how my return to part-time work would affect the flow of the house, especially during this busy season. The house is slowly but surely getting decorated and St. Nicholas Day baking will be much simplified this year.

My success? A peaceful heart about the whole shebang. This is much harder than I thought it would be for my perfectionist heart. When I find myself being anxious about things not being done, I just say a little prayer asking Our Lady for help and that peace comes once more. It's going to be a wonderful season of waiting.

2.
I have made a baking plan for the next few days in order to share some absolutely fabulous cookie recipes with y'all. The kitchen is clean from top to bottom ready for loveliness to be created. I find such peace and joy when I am baking in the kitchen with Christmas Carol's playing and my off-key singing while flour and sugar is being flung from one corner to the other. It is pure joy! Here are a few recipes to wet your pallet. You'll have to stop in next week and see what's baking!!

3.
I have completely re-organized my fabric stash and patterns. It's always amazing what treasures I find hidden deep in the recesses of my closets. Oh the inspiration I find on those shelves. It's going to be a fabulous winter! Sew, Sew, Sew baby!!

Blessings and Grace.
Mary
