small successes (vol.58)...

FaithButton

"It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."

1.
Have you noticed that the closer we get to Christmas, the faster the time flies? Why is it I never feel prepared enough for the Holiday Season?
Anyway, my success for this week is that I have purchased my holiday baking supplies and have begun to formulate my plan. This way as I prepare for Saint Nicholas day (when our family gives these hand baked goodies to those we love) I have a map to follow. I like maps. If you follow them, you don't get lost.

2.
Courtney lost six pounds while battling the latest intestinal virus but all is not lost. She is now enjoying a lovely diet filled with cream, butter, sweet potatoes and anything else that I can think of which contains lots of calories. I dream of eating the way she gets to. My success? I did not freak out when I saw the scale. I said a prayer and made a plan. I am desperately trying to be a freakout free zone.

3.
I made chocolate chip pumpkin walnut and apple oat bran with dried cranberry muffins for the PTA Staff breakfast at my daughters school. The staff there works so hard for my girl it's the least I could do to show my love and appreciation.

  1. I don't know if you saw but I put "perseverance" as #1 on my Thankful Thursday this week totally thinking of you and your Small Successes this week prove it! Especially number 2. I agree, I would have had the "freak-out" reaction first, but your reaction was so productive and forward thinking! Prayers for Miss Courtney to gain weight!

  2. Love your list! I'm taking number 1 right now as advise! I need to get prepared (I am such a list person people think I am batty!). Our family just watched a movie last night called The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry. It's about a man befriending a bunch of young boys and teaching them that the Bible is their map. Number 1 here just reminded me of that.

  3. Great job & congrats on getting through Courtney's illness! Regarding #1, yes the time is going WAY TOO FAST! It seems like after Halloween is over, the time to Christmas is way too short & I never feel prepared enough.

I hope you post the recipe for #3 on Tuesday ;).

Congrats on a trying but beautiful week!
