for edie...

life in grace

In this awesome bubble of blogging, there are times you come across a blog that inspires, lifts you up and makes you look at life with a different set lenses. Edie @ Life in Grace is one of those bloggers for me.

I was introduced to her through another one of my hero's Emily @ Chatting at the Sky. So I went and visited her blog, once, twice and then I was hooked and became a follower. Edie is an artist with her words and her hands. She creates beauty with whatever she touches.  She turned her kitchen into a retro lovers dream with it's open shelving and fabulous paint choice.  Her craft studio that she put together for a song makes me want to weep with it's unique retro touches that speak to Edie's creative soul. In 2009 she did a series post The 12 Days of Christmas that inspired me to get creative and also helped me learn a few new computer skills. For that to happen...miraculous. I haven't learned a new computer skill since. LOL! Oh...I almost forgot...she LOVES coffee!! (me too! me too!)

It's her heart that I admire most. She writes honestly about her faith journey, her family and her own brokenness. She breaks herself wide open no matter what is going on in her life. Two weeks ago her life was forever changed when she and her family lost everything the owned in a house fire. Praise God her family is safe and the rebuilding of their lives goes on.

Today is Edie's birthday and a few friends of hers in the blogging world wanted to do something to support their friend, to encourage and lift her up. So, I wanted to take a moment to let Edie know what she means to me, one of her followers who has never met her in person but gets to glimpse little pieces of her heart and home online.

Dear Edie,
You are a woman of deep abiding faith who LIVES God's promises OUTLOUD for all to see. You believe with all you have in His redeeming love and the ocean's of mercy that flow from the Cross.

You words inspire me to think deeper and love harder throughout my daily walk. You encourage me to forgive and embrace the brokenness within.

You have a creative spirit that flows freely and I am one of the many humble beneficiary's who see what you do and then turn it around and make it my own.

I have no answers in a times such as these but there one thing I do know. The generosity of God can never be outdone. So be prepared for miracles because sister they are on the way.

"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."
Ephesians 3:20-21

Thank you for your honesty and encouragement. Thank you for your creative inspiration. Thank you for using every gift God has given you to proclaim His love to all of us in this little blogger bubble.

Thank you for being YOU!!
Happy Birthday!!
Blessings and Grace,
Mary
