small successes ~ vol. 62

FaithButton

"It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."

1.
I am trying to stay focused and grounded after yesterdays news that we may be on the cusp of actually figuring out why our beautiful daughter has seizures. It's been 18 years that we have walked this journey and to finally, possibly have an answer...well that's almost too much to ask for. So we will wait and see what new medical protocols and diagnostic testing tell us. Prayers would be most welcome.

2.
We have finalized our Lenten plans. There will be no T.V. Mon-Sat and we will be eating soup Mon-Fri to keep things simple and centered on Christ this Lent. So simpleness is the name of the game. I have begun gathering reading possibilities to go over this next week before deciding what I'll read. I must say I am excited about the prospects of this Lent. Really excited. Be still and know that I am God...

3.
I have exercised three days this week. Miraculous, believe me! Now to make it four days next week!

Blessings and Grace.
Mary

  1. Great successes. You've got me started thinking about Lent. Prayers heading your way for #1. It's hard to have a solution when you don't have the answer.

  2. I'm going to say a Novena to St. Jude for you and your family. I also have found comfort in the Beatle's "Let it be"!!! It always made me think of Mary and her courageous faith in God's Will.

Good job in the gym!!!! And I would love to steal your soup idea for Lent. If you have any book recommendations for Lent, let me know! I love "Praying with Teihard de Chardin"

    God Bless you :)

  3. I cant imagine going through not knowing about seizures. My daughter had to be tested for seizures. Those few weeks we waited for the appointment and then waited for the delayed response....oh it was awful. I hope you find answers.

Good Luck through Lent. I know I wouldn't be able to do it. Jesus will be so proud of you:)

  4. What an amazing week! We'll be sure to offer up prayers for you and yours this week as you await more news. We spent 6 months waiting for medical news with my oldest son - it felt like eternity. I can't even imagine 18 years! God bless!

  6. It's lovely hearing what others are planning for Lent. I like your focus on simple living. I am still figuring out our family plans - we did so well with Advent, but I feel I am behind now, so keeping it simple will work for us on many levels :-)
